Aimed at a comprehensive understanding of women's bodies, this fitness initiative sits at the intersection of healthcare and fitness. Jennis offers daily fitness routines tailored to support a woman's cycle.
In the dynamic and ever-evolving world of fitness technology, expanding the Jennis application with cutting-edge features was a paramount challenge. Every innovation introduced needed to be more than just new; it had to be insightful, personalised, and in alignment with the unique health needs of women. The ambition was not just to add, but to redefine and set new benchmarks in the fitness and healthcare domain.
The primary goals were to introduce new features to the jennis platform and to plan and design a transition from a Firebase-centric architecture to one that's independent of any specific cloud provider.
Additionally, the vision encompassed forging partnerships with industry leaders like Apple and engaging with medical experts. This synergy was intended to infuse the platform with specialised knowledge and to conceive novel features aligned with upcoming advancements.
As the principal backend engineer, I drove the development of pivotal backend features to serve a react-native application. Leveraged Javascript/Typescript and adopted a serverless approach for dynamic feature generation.
My collaboration with front-end developers ensured they had all the resources required. This, coupled with the new architecture transition and app strategy, set the technical direction for jennis.
